5 Things to Do to Remind You of Camp
Here are five things to do to remind you of camp!
-
Devos
The consistent schedule of camp can be useful for prioritizing spending time with God, but what about the winter months when life feels chaotic, and you’d rather sleep in than study God’s Word? This is a struggle that many face but you don’t have to let your frustration and guilt keep you from coming back to the Bible. God is not mad at you for missing your devos but He would love to spend time with you right now! Even five minutes a day is better than zero minutes a day. Try this exercise to get you started.
- Prayer: Talk to God about your struggle to spend time with Him and ask Him to change your desires to align with His. Don’t be afraid to be honest! He already knows what’s on your heart, but He would love to hear from you!
- Scripture: Read the first five verses of John. Now read them again. What stands out? Summarize the verses in your own words. Feel free to move on to the rest of the chapter and then the book!
- Application: What did you learn about God in those verses? How can you be obedient to God today based on what you read? If you can’t think of anything, don’t worry or give up! Spending time with God is like watering a plant. At first, you might not see any results, but God promises that as you get to know Him you will produce the fruits of the Spirit.

Gup Recipe
Gup is the iconic colorful drink served during meals at camp. Recreate camp memories and make your own following these instructions!
While Seneca Hills has specially bred cows cared for behind the kitchen to produce this colorful drink, we know purchasing these rare animals is well outside the budget of most families. Because of that, we have created a knock off version that tastes just as good!

Game
You don’t need to wait until camp starts to enjoy all the fun games! Try gathering some of your friends, visiting a park, and playing with them yourselves! Or get creative and craft your own indoor version.
Recipe for disaster—modified version
- Craft the cards—come up with 20 challenges, or five per player. Make sure they are doable and safe! (If you wouldn’t do it, don’t challenge someone else to do it!). These could be active such as running around a building three times, or they could be mental such as quoting a verse. Assign a point value to each card.
- Choose a location and a box to place the cards inside.
- Choose someone who is fair to oversee the challenge and sign off on the cards!
- Set a timer for how long you would like to play and stick to it.
- Play in teams or individually depending on how many players. (Over 5 players calls for teams!)
- Don’t forget the rules! You can only skip card challenges once every time you draw a new card.
- Complete as many challenges before time runs out! Whoever has the most points when time runs out wins.
