Seneca Hills has been serving campers to the glory of God for over 85 years. However, we couldn’t do what we do without the selfless service of our dedicated staff. From lifeguards to kitchen staff to counselors, no role at Seneca is too big or too small. We’ve heard countless testimonials of how camp has not only transformed the lives of the campers but the lives of its staff. If you’re considering working at Seneca, here are the top three reasons to stop thinking and start applying.
1. Spiritual Growth
At Seneca, you are surrounded by Biblical teaching, peers who are serious about pursuing Christ, and older mentors who are grounded in the Word and who care about your spiritual growth. Whether you are a counselor or on maintenance, all staff meet each day to pray and have devotions. Getting away from the distractions of everyday life and being surrounded by Christian influence while serving others will help you to think deeply about your faith and help you build your relationship with Christ.
2. Friendships
A unique aspect of Seneca Hills is its dedicated, faith-focused staff. As you work closely with other peers towards a common goal, you will develop lifelong friendships as you encourage each other in your walk with Christ. These friendships will positively influence your life for years to come.
3. Career Development
Regardless of your future goals and plans, working at Seneca will help you develop both hard and soft skills. Learning the value of hard work through serving others is essential to any position. Growing in communication skills and working together with others as part of a team is also important for life. Depending on your position, you may also learn skills, such as photography, that will directly translate into your future career. Working at Seneca Hills isn’t a hard decision when you consider the future benefit it will have on your character. If you’re looking to spend your summer in a Christ-centered environment to grow your faith and character, we here at Seneca are excited to welcome you. If you aren’t able to commit to this summer but know someone who is, please reach out. We hope you will think and pray about this opportunity.
