In September, our interns had the opportunity to embark on a weekend trip to New York, visiting both Letchworth and Watkins Glen State Parks in New York. The camping trip wasn’t just about tents and trails; it was about leaning into the strengths they have as leaders. They had the chance to go on numerous hikes, cook meals over a campfire, and learn to trust one another as a team through activities such as white water rafting. The highlight of the trip, however, was the deep spiritual connection they felt with God’s creation. Spending time away from the busyness of everyday life, surrounded by the beauty of the wilderness, brought them into a deeper awareness of God’s presence in His creation. By the end of the trip, the group had not only grown in their individual leadership abilities but also bonded deeply as a team and left the trip with a renewed sense of purpose, deeper connections with one another, and a greater appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation!
